:) You may be dizzy, but there's usually sound and balanced advice on here. happens and then it's not there anymore, but it freaks me out! I'm gonna try not to over think this thing though because that's what I tend to do. I do know that my blood pressure is a bit on the low side at times as well.Īnyway, your post got my attention. I am going for a physical this week coming. I do use mild RX glasses at times, (have wondered about it being an eye thing). I'm on medication, but many times I hadn't taken it yet when this symptom exhibited itself. It's scared me, but I figured I'm under a lot of stress and maybe it's just anxiety. I also know to question what I may have eaten, taken in terms of medicine, whether I was very tired, etc., etc. I don't believe I'm hyperventilating or anything like that, but stress level is pretty high these days. Have had it while watching TV, using the computer and probably while doing nothing in particular as well. like feeling like I'm going in that direction (falling/vertigo/fainting). I usually feel myself going towards the left. I've been getting this split second dizzy feeling with faintness for some years now (can't say how long exactly). I strongly suspect they are somehow a response to reflux in the esophagus or some other mechanism of GERD. I was diagnosed with GERD shortly after I began having the symptoms. I have noticed that often I have a sudden presence of mucus in my chest/throat/sinus concurrent with the episodes. Sometimes a dry or bitter taste in the mouth accompanies the worst of them. They can also happen when I am lying on my stomach, which also involves pressure. They almost always happen when I am sitting in a way that is somehow confined and bent somewhat forward, like my office chair or while driving.

For at least a half an hour afterwards there is a sense of unease. Sometimes there is a sense of heat and then cold that rushes through my chest, arms or hands. Sometimes there is brief neck pain or head pain, like a pinched nerve. The dizzyness and head rush is sometimes concurrent with a sense of a change in pressure in the head, neck and chest. I have been having these very scary symptoms for about six months. I hope that you find this a place of information and support! (we also have a fabulous Heart/Cardio forum if you haven't already checked it out) Again welcome, and post anytime with questions or sharing. You may already know these from your CBT, but it doesn't hurt to check out new ones:) You can find this at the top of the main paige. We have some good breathing how-to links in our Anxiety Resource Guide. The best thing to do to reverse the imbalance of O2/CO2 in your blood stream is to take slow, deep breaths. When this occurs, the symptoms of hyperventilation can occur (dizziness, numbness/tingling in the extremites and face, feelings of derealization, ect.) You probably are not even aware that you are doing this, but the fact that it happens when you are stressed, or engaged in a tense activity, supports the idea. When we are anxious, we tend to breathe improperly, taking rapid, shallow breaths. I agree with your therapist regarding the breathing connection. Dizziness is a pretty common symptom of anxiety, and quite a few of us here have experienced it. The only trend I can find with these is that they come on when there's heightened levels of stimulation like work stress or concentrating on playing a computer game.īy the way I'm 25 and male, the only drugs I am on is omeprozol for GERD. However my CBT therapist thinks dizziness with anxiety only comes on through irregular breathing? Not sure if that's true. I've had an MRI, seen an ENT doc and seeing an endo to check for adrenalin levels but starting to think these may be anxiety/stress related. They can happen at rest, but mostly when slightly stressed such as daily when working staring at my lap top! I have just had a cardiac ablation for WPW but I've worn a monitor when getting these episodes are they are not cardiac in nature, I.e not an extra beat and in a normal rhythm. Just anxiety about worrying what happened, does anyone else get these? It lasts seconds, can sometimes feel like I'm falling depending on what I'm doing. I sometimes get a split second feeling of dizzyness, feel slightly faint, and it comes with what feels like a head or adrenaline rush. I joined this forum to see if any other anxiety sufferers get this symptom?
